A Medicare annual wellness visit (AWV) is a fully covered, no-cost benefit for your Peoples Health patients. It’s a valuable tool to assist you in developing comprehensive care plans, in that it focuses on maintaining a full health history, identifying health risks and implementing personalized screening schedules.

We are continuing to encourage our plan members to receive the preventive services they need this year, including a colorectal cancer screening. In August, we began working with two vendors, Exact Sciences and LetsGetChecked, to have an at-home Cologuard screening test sent to eligible members.

The symptoms of major depressive disorder can be successfully treated with antidepressant therapies, but ensuring patient adherence to the medication is key, as is establishing bidirectional coordination of care on the patient’s behalf between the primary care provider and the treating behavioral health provider.

Medicare has awarded Peoples Health a rating of 5 out of 5 stars for 2024.* We’ve been awarded this status for three years in a row, beginning in 2022.
