The Medical Group Management Association article, “Patient satisfaction starts with effective, efficient communication,” by ECU Physicians at East Carolina University offers tools clinicians need to affect patient satisfaction through effective communication. The article outlines how ECU Physicians developed a communication framework over a four-year period to improve communications among clinical teams, as well as between clinical teams and patients, successfully enhancing patient satisfaction. The CAHPS survey was one tool they used to gauge patients’ experiences.
