Peoples Health Earns 5 Stars,
Plus Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period Is Now
In time for Medicare’s annual enrollment period (AEP), which started Oct. 15 and lasts through Dec. 7, Peoples Health HMO plans and D-SNPs have earned Medicare’s highest rating—5 out of 5 stars—for 2022. From 2018 to 2021, Peoples Health held the highest rating of any Medicare Advantage plan in Louisiana at 4.5 stars.* Our 5-star rating also affords us the added advantage of enrolling new members in our plans throughout the year in 2022, not only during AEP.
AEP is when patients eligible for Medicare can change their health plan coverage and join a Medicare Advantage plan, like those Peoples Health offers. Options are available in the area for your patients considering choosing Medicare Advantage. Patients can explore plan costs and compare plan ratings, which are an important factor to consider.
We’re pleased to report that we’re continuing to grow our network of quality providers. Know colleagues interested in contracting with Peoples Health? Send them to our website to apply. If you have patients who believe their doctors aren’t in our network, encourage them to check again.
Our provider relations team will deliver 2022 Peoples Health plan reference materials to network providers in the coming weeks. Network providers can also register through the Provider Portal for 2022 benefit training sessions being held in October and November.
*Every year, Medicare sets a rating of 1 to 5 stars for each Medicare Advantage plan, based on the plan’s performance in areas such as quality of care and customer service. Peoples Health HMO and HMO D-SNP plans under Medicare contract H1961 are rated 5 out of 5 stars for 2022. Peoples Health PPO plans (contract H4544) are too new to be rated.
