We’re quite proud that CMS rated our Peoples Health HMO plans and D-SNPs as 5-star plans for 2022.* The star rating, on a scale of 1 to 5, serves as a measure of each plan’s performance and of the quality and service the plan provides its members. The rating system gives Medicare beneficiaries a way to consider quality as well as cost as they make enrollment decisions. The higher the star rating a plan has, the better its performance. According to CMS, “A 5-star rating is considered excellent.”

This top rating affords us the advantage of enrolling new members in these plans anytime through Nov. 30, 2022. This means any Medicare beneficiary residing in Louisiana can make a one-time election through a 5-star special enrollment period to join one of our 5-star plans. *Every year, Medicare sets a rating of 1 to 5 stars for each Medicare Advantage plan, based on the plan’s performance in areas such as quality of care and customer service. Peoples Health HMO and HMO D-SNP plans under Medicare contract H1961 are rated 5 out of 5 stars for 2022. Peoples Health PPO plans (contract H4544) are too new to be rated.
